Upcoming Privacy Insight Series Webinar – California Consumer Privacy Act: What you Need to Know

July 23, 2018

Hot on the heels of the GDPR enforcement date, the State of California passed the California Consumer Privacy Act, now known as the “CCPA”. Slated to go into effect January 1, 2020, the CCPA is set to be the toughest privacy law in the United States by broadly expanding the rights of consumers and requiring businesses within scope to be significantly more transparent about how they collect, use, and disclose personal information. This new law may represent a broader global trend toward stronger privacy protections and greater data transparency, as many countries look to the impact of the GDPR.

As mentioned in our blog post on July 17th, getting started on your CCPA compliance plan as soon as possible will allow your privacy teams to thoughtfully design a program and controls that will ensure consistency with existing and future privacy work at your company.

On Wednesday, July 25th, the TrustArc Privacy Insight Series will present “California Consumer Privacy Act: What you Need to Know”. This webinar will provide an overview of the scope and key obligations under the new California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), help you understand if your company’s in scope, review overlap between CCPA and key GDPR requirements and provide a ten step roadmap to compliance with the CCPA.
